Safety Support
OSHA safety standards require that only trained personnel perform fire watch and confined space attendant duties. Dunkin & Bush is able to provide properly trained personnel to perform these tasks. This allows your employees to apply their talents to what they do best; the craft in which they were trained and for which you pay them.
Fire Watch
Hot work, i.e., welding, torch cutting and other flame or spark producing activities, performed in the vicinity of combustible materials requires the presence of a trained fire watch.
Fire watchers shall have fire extinguishing equipment readily available and be trained in its use. They shall be familiar with facilities for sounding an alarm in the event of a fire. They shall watch for fires in all exposed areas, try to extinguish them only when obviously within the capacity of the equipment available, or otherwise sound the alarm. A fire watch shall be maintained for at least a half hour after completion of welding or cutting operations to detect and extinguish possible smoldering fires.
Confined Space Attendant
Entry into Permit Required Confined Spaces requires that at least one attendant be stationed outside the permit space for the duration of entry operations.
The employer shall ensure that each attendant knows the hazards that may be faced during entry, continuously maintains an accurate count of authorized entrants in the permit space, and communicates with authorized entrants as necessary to monitor entrant status. In addition, attendants must monitor activities inside and outside the space to determine if it is safe for entrants to remain in the space, order the entrants to evacuate the permit space if hazardous conditions develop and summon rescue and other emergency services as soon as the attendant determines that authorized entrants may need assistance to escape from permit space hazards.
