Corrosion & Maintenance Surveys
If you stop and think about the problem of billions of dollars worth of assets lost each year to corrosion and when you realize the amount of maintenance money misspent on poorly planned, poorly executed, and poorly timed painting projects, then it is time to consider the solution. For over twenty years Dunkin & Bush has provided the solution.
The plant survey is the dynamic tool facility managers have needed to effectively plan, budget, schedule, and track their maintenance painting program -- whether executed with in-house personnel, an outside applicator or both. The plant survey allows plant managers, maintenance managers, planners, process managers, supervisors, and operators the opportunity to plan and work together towards the goal of cost effective long-term plant protection while improving safety, productivity and morale.
A team of Dunkin & Bush estimators inspects the entire facility, surveying the quantities and substrate coating systems, degree of rust, film thickness, adhesive, ph levels, operating temperatures, the presence of lead and safety needs. Priorities are established not only in regards to conditions and exposures of substrates, but also, with continual input from plant operators, in terms of annual funding, shut down schedules, items planned for obsolescence and replacement value.
The dynamic uses of these tools are numerous. The data is entered into the survey software program. The finished document, on computer disc and hard copy, lists all items in the plant area with specific substrates in the areas prioritized. Specifications are provided. Total costs, including labor, materials, and equipment are presented, in a spreadsheet format, by work item.
Completed survey in hand, you can now plan and schedule cost effective repainting of the entire facility, on a prioritized schedule, over a specific time period, based on available funding.
